River Studios is housed in a character filled building in Totton, near Southampton, Hampshire on the edge of the New Forest.

Constructed in 1903 and used as various things throughout the years including a local cinema.  It underwent a massive half million pound refurbishment in the summer of 2010 including advanced, ecologically friendly lighting and air handling systems, cutting edge audio technology, sound proofing and acoustic treatment.

The studio comprises a large, comfortable control room, two live rooms (one large drum room and a second smaller vocal booth), two isolated amp rooms and also benefits from dedicated kitchen & toilet facilities.

We only use extremely high quality equipment and experienced, skilled engineers to produce results of a high professional standard.  For those interested in the specifics feel free to take a look at our facilities/gear list page.

The team of people who staff River Studios are the same people who ran the long respected “HL Studios” which , over the last 13 years, established an outstanding reputation as one of the best small studios in the South – perhaps the country with clients travelling from Newcastle, Cardiff, Edinburgh and even outside the UK, specifically to use our services. We have always taken an enormous amount of pride in our diverse range of projects from the obvious like helping Singer/Songwriters to flesh out their songs, full band recordings, and cover versions over backing tracks, but also less obvious things like voice overs for Sky Sports and the BBC One Show and voice commands for digital radio systems, talking books and relaxation CD’s. If it makes a noise  - we can probably record it!
